Workers of Worcester is a documentary photography series of portraits and interviews of frontline workers to honor the humanity of those who risk their lives and provide a space for their voices to be heard.
"Versatility"
"It has been really heartening and encouraging to see so many people taking on different roles and being in a new environment and helping each other out. So that has changed us for the better. Family doctors can fill in so many clinical situations. They become so useful-- both for filling in for colleagues and for caring for patients in a lot of different settings. They are critical in the course of a pandemic as members of the workforce and as people who care for patients. We can take care of inpatient and outpatient: that includes regular routine wellness care, substance abuse, behavioral health and psychology, coping skills and at the same time can take care of acute illnesses like covid itself for patients who are at home or in the hospital; we are totally deployable to the emergency department setting, the inpatient setting, testing tents, field hospitals like at the DCU; we can cover for pediatric colleagues and obstetric colleagues. Our versatility is useful."
